*Do you need a rental car when visiting St Thomas? I will be staying at the Marriott and I seem to remember things are close by and there are lots of taxis.

Is November a good time to visit?

Thanks

Hello John,

There are a lot of taxis. Town is relatively close to the Marriott Frenchmans and Morningstar Resorts... other areas are close but still require a 15-20+ minute drive (give or take depending on where you are going of course). If you plan to stay around the resort much of the time then a rental isn't really necessary but if you want to explore daily, beach hop, shop, go out to restaurants at night... then a car is a great idea so that you can fuction on your own time.

November is the second rainiest month of the year... you can visit the weather stats. at https://www.vinow.com/usvi/weather.php
now that doesn't mean it will rain everyday as everyday rain is not the norm for us. However it is entirely possiable that you will have rain during your trip and then you might have none or just a 15-30 minute shower in the am and then it clears up... the latter is more representative of our rain.

Hey Islander -

I am going to be in STJ the 2nd week of August for my honeymoon, and I was wondering if hurricanes are common then?

Thanks

Hello Kelly,

Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th, however the high months are August-September. Hurricanes are not common in the sense of being yearly... last big ones were in 1995 and 1989.
