What are the suggestions for the transportation between the airport and ferry station to Tortola. Is there a mini-van transportaion available? We're 6 people and will need to get to the Ferry from the airport.

The taxi dispatcher will be right there when you leave the terminal and put you into the right taxi van going i that direction. It's only a 5-8 minute drive and will ruin you $4 per person, plus additional for any stowed baggage. Simple, stress-free procedure!

Just outside the airport baggage claim at the St. Thomas airport is the taxi stand. Many of the taxis that service the airport are vans, and they can accommodate say 10 passengers or so. Taxi fare is per person. You will be grouped with others going in the same direction as you. If you want a private taxi just for your group, you will pay a bit more. Taxi fare information is available on this website, scroll to the top of page, click on St. Thomas - and under Transportation is Taxi Rates.

Also under Transportation is Ferry Schedule, you can find the St. Thomas - Tortola ferry options listed there. Most leave from the Charlotte Amalie ferry terminal, a few trips are provided from Red Hook. Check the schedule and see what time/departure point works best for you. You may want to give the the ferry operator a call and double check the departure time you plan to use.
