we have been to st john a number fo times but have not explored it with someone knowledgeable. same for st thomas. any sugestions?
On STJ, the Reef Bay hike sponsored by the Parks Department is wonderful. They take you to the trail head, full descriptions of everything down to Reef Bay, including the Petroglyphs and then ferry you back to Cruz Bay.
Not familiar with any private guides to other areas.
What is the cost of this tour?
The hike is offered on Mon and Thurs, $20 for ride to trail head then boat ride back to Cruz Bay after the hike. Reservations recommended, meet at NPS Visitor Center. Great hike. Also consider Ram's Head, take the $1 bus to Salt Pond. Avoid mid-day and bring water. Most taxi drivers will offer an island tour for $30-40, some have great personalities, it's a treat (and a way for the locals to earn a living).
