Today around 3:00 p.m. a WAPA bucket truck rolled down Mafolie road and hit an open air taxi on STT. There were at least 3 vehicles involved - no fatalities have been announced. I believe the radio mentioned that 16-18 of the 22 passengers were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The injured were all tourist of Carnival Cruise Line.

I am anxious for an update. There will probably be something in the newspaper in the morning. I feel terrible for everyone involved. 🙁

On STT - headed home tomorrow

Just as a follow up- One visitor was airlifted to FL for treatment, two flew back home and all others were treated and released "back to the ship." It was a terrible accident, but the EMS and the hospital staff did an absolutely wonderful job. I know nurses who were walking to their cars at the end of the day when they saw the ambulances. They turned around and headed for the ER.

Credit certainly should be given to the EMS responders as well as the hospital staff. We spent time at the ER earlier this year and found that it was a very professional facility with great staff. The nurses were great.
