It is a restaurant attached to a hotel on the beach at Trellis Bay. I suspect that Brewer's Bay would have some of the best snorkeling on Tortola, but it isn't like the USVI! 😉

Although Cane Garden Bay has traditionally been the standard day trip, many cruise ships stopping at Road Town now also have excursions to Brewer's Bay. If yours doesn't, you can take a taxi from the harbor and it's not a long drive, as Brewer's is directly across Great Mountain from Road Town. De Loose Mongoose is much farther and in an entirely different direction -- Trellis Bay is on Beef Island near the airport. How long will your cruise ship be in port?

sorry we will only be there from 7am till 6pm, there is never enough time to do the things you want to do once you find them.,,,as the song goes. Just need to get to Brewer's Bay to snorkel and fiqure out best way to secure stuff left on beach. considering renting a jeep if possible. any advice appreciated.. I just want to snorkel. Also wondered if any of the 1/2 or 1 day charters offered any better snorkeling sites out of tortola???

Dale: You might do better asking on a BVI board...traveltalkonline.com has an active group of bareboaters who can help you.

Hi Dale
We were on a charter last year and we stopped at Anegada for a night. It was great fun! Try to go to the restaurant on Cow Wreck Beach (love that name :)). They had the biggest lobsters i have ever seen!! The bartender was a real hoot, too. We rented a car for 1/2 day and just drove around the island, which is really more like a sand dune in the middle of nowhere. (You can actually see Tortola from the far side of the island!!...It's REALLY flat!). We found the roads by following the telephone poles! It was an adventure, as always ( with MY hubby, anyways). The sand there is like silk...soooo soft and warm. Hope you have a good time. BTW, The sunsets there were also spectacular. I have some great pics!!
