Staying at the Westin in September. Will eat most meals there and realize they will be very expensive. Can anyone recommend top Italian restaurant, Mexican Restaurant and bar hangout in Cruz Bay?

Italian- Cafe Roma

Mexican- None. I do not like Margarita Phils at all and I have not heard anything good about Cactus on Blue

Bar- Anyone 🙂 I like Quiet Mon, Beach Bar, Tap Room (brew pub), Gecko Gazebo, and Larry's Landing (although Larry's is not for everyone)

Xislandirl's suggestions are great, I would respectfully add The Lime Inn & Zozo's (on the expensive side tho), Uncle Joe's for carry out BBQ, Happy Fish & La Plancha del Mar at the MarketPlace complex (which isn't far from the Westin), the Banana Deck is decent, The Inn at Tamarind Court does a nice breakfast, and Skinny Legs & Aqua Bistro over in Coral Bay. We enjoy staying at the Westin but prefer to mostly eat off property. We love love love the Beach Bar as a hangout and for casual eats. Have fun!

I have to nix The LIme Inn..... absolutely NO atmosphere and No breezes. We sat on top of other diners and sweated profusely while trying to enjoy our dinner! Skip this one!

Cafe Roma is the well kept secret in Cruz, it is one of the longest standing restaurants on the island, I have mentioned before that the first time I went there was in 1977, I go back every year because it is one of the best kept secrets on the island.

If you are out and about, I still never miss a Sunday Brunch at Miss Lucy's.

If you are near the round about, you will see a little roadside diner, another well kept secret. Enjoy.

yes Cafe Roma is geat, LaTapa can be fun but can get noisy. Jakes at the lumberyard is good for breakfast. I disagree about nixing Lime Inn - great grilled lobster; the diners are there sweating because of the good food LOL The Sun Dog/Gecko Gazebo over at Mongoose is nice if you're there for shopping.

September is very quiet on STJ and many restaurants will be closed - check the following link for up to date closings - they have just started this years dates so more will be added in the upcoming weeks as info becomes available.

I also love Rumblimes (not sure the spelling is correct), but food is great.

Yes, do be sure to check which places are open in September. Miss Lucy's will likely not be open but check because if it is it is a really nice experience. Also, in Coral Bay we love Shipwreck. We like Waterfront Bistro in Cruz Bay and have had good meals at Margarita Phil's. It's been a few years since we have been to Cafe Roma. In the past, we have enjoyed dinner at the Westin and liked listening to the piano music.
