Greetings...

I was thinking about sending some things to STT ahead of time. Maybe some dry goods for the condo, snorkel gear, etc. The lighter our checked load is the better! Would anyone know of a "mail-ahead" service on STT? We'll be staying @ Mahogany Run, so if there is a place convenient to that area.

Thanks,
Kathy

I am an owner at Mahogany Run. I have shipped many large boxes of knick knacks, table linens, sheets, plastic patio ware etc that would have been either too heavy or too bulky for a suitcase. The best price was regular US mail. I ship them out the week before my arrival on STT and they usually take 6 days to show up. Since I am an owner I am able to ship them to the condo office where they are delivered and I just wait for them to call that I have a package and then run down to pick them up. Michelle and Cory work in the office and are so helpful. Perhaps you can give them a call at 340-777-6880. Do not use UPS, way too expensive, triple the cost of regular mail.

Hey Poohwear, thanks for the info. I will give them a call if I don't hear anything else here.

I've seen a coupla posts on another forum by you and I must say you are LUCKY to have a place on STT!! If we ever win the lottery we're going to buy a place too! We're renting a unit called Mahogany Breeze...all I know is that it has ocean views, but as far as location within the property, I haven't a clue.

I've read that the Stone Farmhouse has good food...do you agree?

Enjoy,
Kathy

Last year I would have agreed about the food at the Old Stone, I loved their duck, it was outrageous. I am taking a big step here by saying that I would not spend the exorbitant menu prices on the food they are now serving. You must choose from a 3,4,5,7 course tasting menu and believe me it is way too pricey for the food that is served pretentiously. I probably won't return. My 27 year old son and his trendy friends, however, spent 4 out of 7 nights having dinner there and probably spent thousands on wine and food. They loved it...I am so over it. The beauty of the location and the building remains high on my list but the dinners are way out of line. They do have drinks and appetizers in the early evening that might be a way to go, just not for me anymore.

In the "Better Safe than Sorry" genre, may I humbly suggest U.S. Postal Service, Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Sometimes it pays to have a way to track it, and the Priority label may, not will, ensure that the packages get here within a week. The postal service here has not been as reliable as I'd like it to be, but I will agree that it's the most economical game in town.

i ship my clothes ahead of me before every trip using the USPS. If you don't plan ahead and you want your things here while you are here you must use Priority Mail. If you ship it here using normal parcel post it can take as long as a month to 6 weeks to get here.
