What is the norm for tipping on a daysail. Do you tip the captain if he owns the boat or just buy his lunch? What about the crew, if any? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

OK Chris@work, here's my one entry a day as I try to wean off the board and get back to my world, post vacation!!! We tip as we would any service so when we went out on a Limnos Charter last week when we were in STJ, we tipped close to 20% for the approx $200 bill. Some people left leaving nothing at all but I'll chalk that up to inexperience. A good service means a good tip just like bad service means a bad or no tip. I don't believe our crew owned the business- in the case of owners, I would have tipped a little less if he/she was alone ( I've heard that this is apprpriate) but there's always the crew to think about. Usually kids making crummy money trying to survive a tough island economy.

LOL
Thanks for the info. Your experience is what people are wanting to learn from and what you can offer by being a frequent (or less frequent as you so desire) contributor. 🙂
