*Can you tell me how long it takes to go from the ferry from Charlotte amalie to St JOhn and then taxi over to trunk bay. How many hours does it take to actually get to trunk bay. Thanks

The ferry ride from Red Hook is about 20 or so minutes and the one from CA is about twice that. Then about a 5-15 minute taxi ride depending on the driver if he stops at the various photo-op spots along the way.

Hello Susan,

There are two ferries you can take to get to St. John, you asked about the CA and here is the info.

If your ship docks in Havensight the taxi to the Charlotte Amalie ferry will be about 6-8 minutes (in little traffic). The Charlotte Amalie St. John ferry takes about 45 minutes to get to St. John and the drive from Cruz Bay to Trunk bay is around 10-12 minutes if you stop at the lookouts for Caneel Bay and Trunk Bay then it will of course take longer - and if you can stop you should, great view points!! There are taxis readily available in Cruz Bay to take you where you need to go and also taxis in Trunk Bay waiting to take you back.

If you choose to take the Red Hook ferry then its a 17-20 minute taxi drive to Red Hook. A 15-20 minute ferry ride to St. John.

Have a great time.

Hello Susan,

For April the Disney Magic is scheduled to be in port two days, one day in Havensight (the 21st) and the other day in Crown Bay (the 7th). What day are you visiting/month? I don't have the schedule passed April, they are released month to month.

Hello Susan,

I don't yet have the June schedule and won't have it until the end of May. The cruise ships can dock at different places - it depends entirely on how many ships are in that day and the size of the ship. If we get a day with just one or two ships they are usually at the dock in Havensight if we have 8 ships in they all can't fit so some are at the Havensight dock, some anchored in the harbor and some at Crown Bay dock. All three locations could be called Charlotte Amalie as Charlotte Amalie is the name of a huge area not just town and the harbor. I am not sure where the Disney ship will be in June the day you come in until I see the schedule.

There are two ferry docks to St. John - the Red Hook ferry and the Charlotte Amalie ferry. You can take either one regardless of where you dock. The Charlotte Amalie ferry is closest to all three docking points but would still require a taxi ride from Havensight and Crown Bay and a short walk if you were tendered into the waterfront (which is what happens if you ship anchors in the harbor). The Red Hook ferry would require a taxi for all three docking options.

There is a comparision of the 2 ferry points, including cost, time, taxi fare at:
