I will be coming into port on Carnival Glory in December. I was wondering what time I will be coming into port. Since the US just changed there time. My papers tell me 10am is that island time or US time? The Glory was just in port on the 1st. Maybe you will be able to help me out.
Since the VI remain on Atlantic Standard Time year-round, the time is one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time; the same as Eastern Daylight Time. You'll be there in December (during EST) so island time will be one hour ahead of ship time (assuming the Glory is still based in Port Canaveral).
So does this mean I will be coming into port at 11am island time. Or will I still come in at 10am island time
The ship will likely stay on EST for the entire cruise, so 10:00 EST (11:00 island time). Your Capers bulletin will explain this.
It's been my experience that most ships stay on the time zone they left from, regarless of which zone it ports in. It can be verrry confusing for the guests of the ship to come here and be told to be back on-board no later than, say, 5 O'clock, and, when they get to the ship, find that "5 O'clock" on "ship time" is actually 6 O'clock "local time"...as they watch their ship motoring out of the harbor. Check with your particualr ship to stay abreast of time zone changes. Good luck and have fun!
