Do you have high and low tides in the VI's like there are on the east coast of the US? I returned from STT awhile back and I didn't notice in change in the water levels like you do in Florida.

Pete,
Yes we do. If I am not mistaken, the difference between high and low tide is 0.8'. That's about nine inches.

The closer a location is to the equator, the smaller the difference between high and low tides.

That would make sense when you see pictures of the docks up in Maine compared to the docks in the USVI. Big Difference. Thanks for the info

I'm from MA; the difference is huge, enough to make boating a challenge. Another good reason to sail in the VI 🙂
