Hello Everyone!

So, my husband and I officially have bought our plane tickets for our PMV!! We will be getting into STT around 2 pm on Dec 4th so we are thinking about staying in Red Hook for that night. We will then proceed over to St. John for the rest of our stay.

Are there any 'can't-miss' events going on in that time frame?

We are renting a car for our entire stay (as per your guidance).

We are going to stay at Maho Bay Camp for Dec 5th & 6th but we haven't figured out where we will go from there. Any suggestions? We wanted to stay there because its the cheapest I can find and I highly doubt that Ill be spending much time indoors anyways.

We are throwing around the idea of going over to the BVI for a night. What are your favorite locations on that island?

All suggestions encouraged and appreciated!

Thank You in advance!

Sorry for my grammatical error. When asking about the BVIs, I meant:

"We are throwing around the idea of going over to the BVIs for a night. What are your favorite locations on the islands?

Thank You!!!

Hi Meagan,

We spent 10 days on St. John in May and took the ferry from Cruz Bay to Jost Van Dyke for the day. All four of us agreed it was one of the best days of our vacation.

A week doesn't give you much time to see and do all STJ has to offer, much less Jost Van Dyke, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, STT, etc.
Just bring bug spray and take with, where ever you go! Just in Case!
Hope you have a grand time, whatever you do.8-)

Yes, the OP posted on here which was a little confusing to some responders as a PMV is generally not considered a "vacation". The OP also posted the same questionon the relocation forum where the responses were more geared towards urging her to treat the PMV as that and not as a vacation. 😀

I was just thrown off a bit because I imagine a Pre Move Visitor would be more interested in their living and working possibilities rather than a trip to the BVI's but I don't know the circumstances of the poster.
If your looking for a low cost option for StJ you might do a search on Woodrose or Bannaquit villas. I am not sure if Woodrose is still available but it is in the Fish Bay area and was reasonable in comparison to other rental property.

So sorry that it has taken me so long to reply! I am definitely more interested in living and working possiblities but I feel that I've already done enough research on this topic. I have lined up several clients for my business that have no problem with my working via internet. So I will already have a decent income by the time I move to the island. I do plan on working down there as well because I know that the cost of living is significantly higher than here on the mainland.

Our visit isn't going to be all work no play, which is why I've posted this thread.

Thank you all for your input and the few suggestions!

I have posted this on the other forum as well, however since our PMV is both a 'Pre-Move Visit' & 'Pre-Move Vacation' all wrapped up in one that I would post here as well.

Hope you all have the best day! Weather is depressing & wintery here in FL, I can't wait for our visit!
