Has anyone rented cars from Thrifty? Any good? Do they have the cars at the airport in St. Thomas? Appears they might be at anothe location.

The cars are fine. The site is not in the airport though, they are just outside and have shuttle. I used them and had no issue other than when dropping off there was ne sense of urgency to return me to the airport to get my flight
We have rented from Thrifty in the past, good cars and generally nice people. Several years ago our flight was late getting in, finally landed at 4:45, called and as usual they will not pick you until you have your bags. Called a second time and they said they would stay open until we got our bags and would pick us up, called at 5pm and guess what they were closed and we were out of luck. We luckily were able to rent a car at the airport, because of this we will never consider them again. Poor costumer service. Check this message board for long term users and you will see the costumer service leaves much to be desired.
Never rented from thrify. We used to rent from Conrad's on STJ very nice and very friendly! However now that we come with the kids, it is so so convenient to rent at the airport. We use Budget. The cars have always been decent, and customer service has been good. However this year we noticed that for a 4 door jeep they are $300 more than Conrad's for the week. SO I think we will be going to see Conrad's this time around. I believe in keeping the money we spend in STJ when we stay there but with three young kids in tow, it is such a less of an hassle to just get the vehicle at the airport.
DON'T DO IT!!!!!! I am an airport greeter and take guests to their villas, they are the worst to deal with by far! Dollar is together with Thrifty, so don't be fooled!
Last p/u with Thrifty went like this. Got my guests, guests try to call Thrifty. Phone busy. Guests get luggage. Still try to call Thrifty. Phone busy! After waiting a while, I carry them to Thrifty. Thrifty tells them they have no cars and sends us elsewhere.
About 3 weeks ago, I did a p/u. There were 3 different parties trying to reach Thrifty, no answer. After waiting for well in to an hour, one set started walking there! During this duration, Dependable had come and gone with their people 3 times! I have never had good luck with this company! Believe me, I live at the airport!
