Hello. My name is Fernando Lenero I'll be arriving on January 1, 2008. We are passengers of the Carnival Triumph Cruise, I have some questions, I want to know how far is your location from the arrival point of the cruise? This is because I want to rent a car on the date mentioned above.

Thank you and Im looking forward for your answer.

Don't know why you are asking a question here of Thrifty but I would recommend Budget as they are across the street from where the ship comes in. Don't waste your time with Thrifty. Would be counterproductive.

Hello Fernando,

Thrifty is located close to the airport. Carnival ships usually dock in Havensight. You'd have to take a taxi from Havensight to Thrifty, say 18-20 minute drive in low/moderate traffic. As Ronnie mentioned Budget Car Rental has an office right across the street from the Havensight dock/shopping area, Avis does too. You could walk to their offices from the dock.

HI FERNANDO
I just rented from Thrifty 12/10-12/14. My experience comes with mixed reviews. We had to take a taxi from the airport to the rental site, it was a twelve dollars. They did reimburse, which was one good thing. We were third in line to rent a car, the office had one employee working that da. It took close to an hour to finally get the car, one very bad thing.
The frustrated employee apoligized that he did not have time to clean the car, therefore ,he would give us one day free. It was not dirty, cleaner than my car at home, so that was a good thing.
We checked the car for damages and found that one of the tires was very flat. The employee said that he didn't have any more cars, he would bring us a new car tomorrow and that we would not be charged for that day ,another good thing.
He did bring us another car the following day but there was no gas in it, the light was on, that was a bad thing.
Traffic is a REAL BIG problem at that time of day, your trip to Thrifty and back through town will steal a lot of precious time from your day. I would rent from Budget or Avis which are directly across the street from the Havensight cruise ship docks.
Another word of advice, get off the ship and RUN to the rental office, you will not be the only person wanting to rent a car. Believe me," Island Time" is no joke!

How do you contact the Havensight Budget office? The Budget.com only shows the airport location.
Thanks!
