Recently read that the QM2 did NOT dock in Crown Bay because dredging was not finished. Article went on to say that the dredging was expected to be completed for the QM2 second appearance this season, sometime in December.

'm wondering if this visit with the photos and Ronnie's post was this second visit date - and that by docking outside the bay, that once again the dredging did not get finished?

Dredging is not done although today they are offloading the barge so we'll see if they resume or what happens. Story is that when asked why the dredging was not done so QM2 could dock at CB, comm'r in charge said he didn't know they were serious about docking there, he thought it was just a rumor.

If that is the real reason the dredging was not completed in time, that is truly pathetic. Especially since tourism is what the island thrives on, and I'd think a visit by the folks off the QM2 would provide a healthy shot in the arm to many businesses. Might even spur the hurry up and get it completed shops at CB!!!
