Good Morning! Minnesotans just returned from 6 wks in STX. We had a magical time except for one blip...And we want to send out a quick word re. We flew into STT and had arranged to take the ferry over to Christiansted. Big Mistake! Our first clue should have been when they passed out little white bags to everyone. It got nasty. My Lamaze breathing was one thing that saved me. Everyone was very ill, and the trip took about 3 hours. We made the other mistake of buying round trip tickets! We gave the return tickets to our taxi driver and took the sea plane back to STT when we left. We ate $90 ....but you do learn! More later about STX...we will return!

I took the ferry r/t between STT/STX 7 weekends in a row...it's not always rough...but they always pass out the bags!

The Seaplane is having a sale for only $119 r/t if you book over the 'net and fly during their off-peak times...

We took the same ferry several weeks ago & yes several women got sick but that was not the ferry's fault!

Spend more money and take the plane the next time.

Where are you from? We live in Scandia, about 15 miles north of Stillwater. We are going to STT in 2 weeks. We have never been to St Croix. In your opinion is it worth the trip to take a day trip over to St Croix?

WRusty Hi, we live on Rose Lake by Detroit Lakes, but we call Perham home. When we arrived in STT we had some time so we hired a taxi and toured the island. STT is more densely populated than STX, but very similar in topography etc. I'm not sure that theres anything going on in STX thats worth the trip over. Don't take the Ferry! One of our highlights was snorkeling on Buck Island, but they must have snorkeling on STT. We loved the fact that we were on an American territory, speaking English, and using American currency. Cruzons are very friendly and the most courteous of drivers. We have traveled to many places and Hawaii and STX are two places we would go back to! Have a safe and wonderful trip! Zelda

Zelda,

We live in Vergas and have been going to St Croix for the last four years. We stay at Hotel on the Cay in Christiansted Harbor. Wouldn't trade it for the world. Would never consider leaving STX on the ferry to St Thomas. Been there...too busy for me.8-) Leaving for STX in two weeks for 3 1/2 weeks. Cruzan rules!
