Arrived on STT Wednesday from ORD - no delays. Sherri met us at the airport, big hugs all around, and helped us to sort out the rental car with Budget and get on our way to Villa Diva in Peterborg. Sherri has great connections at the airport so she was able to get us together pretty quickly - well, as quickly as anyone could get together 5 middle-aged divas with a mound of luggage - lol. A couple of Red Stripes for the road and we were on our way. We had read that the weather was pretty gloomy down here but the clouds parted for our late afternoon trip to the Magens area. Our designated driver (who is a tiny 5'1" tall) gritted her teeth and climbed behind the wheel of a honkin' big 7 passenger Dodge Durango and off we set. Sherri has walkies so we kept in touch, car to car, all the way. She pointed out sites and areas to us and we were able to ask questions. That's a great way to do it. I have stayed at a lot of villas and had a lot of different villa greeters but Sherri is by far the absolute best! I have thought about it and I think she is the best because she puts herself in the shoes (or flip flops) of the guest and does for others what she would want done for herself, nothing less than an all-out effort. The sun came out full force as we were heading out to Peterborg and we were able to see Magens in all of its late afternoon glory. The four island newbies with me were pretty awed. Well, three of them - Sally didin't dare take her concentration off the road! The roads are not that bad out here but, of course, this was Sally's first time driving on the left - especially in this boat we rented. We arrived at the formal gate to Diva - the automatic gate opened and we were IN! Flowering trees and bushes line the long driveway. We parked, grabbed the bags with the food coolers and headed into the pool courtyard. The view was incredible! There had been a lot of rain and the signs of that were everywhere - and so were the 'squitos - lol. We did a tour of all of the rooms, then sat down at the dining room table for Sherri's island orientation. Fortunately, the Grocery Goddesses had delivered our basic provisions so we had cold Red Stripes and Diet Cokes at the ready. Sherri spent a lot of time explaining things, making suggestions, and marking up the map. We were sorry to see her go when she finished and all of the questions were answered. We were pretty pooped - we wanted to just unpack a few things, grab showers and have some food.

Next: Our first day in paradise and my take on Diva.

Margy,
Haven't been on in a few days and really didnt have the time now, but what the heck, I snuck on to take a peak and am ever so happy that you decided to start your trip report while here!!!! 🙂 Your trip here was long awaited and I was very excited to finally get to meet you! For the rest of you, I have had the pleasure of hearing Margy's other arrival stories and she sure does know how to make you laugh! Thanx for the compliments Margy, I simply love what I do! The day before the "Diva's" arrived, the 'squitos came out full force from all of the rain we have been having! I knew it wasn't going to be pleasant and had visions of the girls in the pool with a swarm above thier heads and they were going to have to stay under the water inorder to get them off!!!! (put a crossed eyed smiley here, I don't know how to do it) lol. I have to say you were all troupers! I even called the maid before the Diva's arrived and asked her to spray the house upon her departure (which she called me and told me she did), there were still many buggers there chowing down while I did my little oriantation! Very anxious to hear more about your stay and hope you gals are enjoying yourselves! 🙂
