Islander are you very familiar with the Baths, Tortola and the Island Virgin Gorda. I am looking for suggestions on what you think are must see or must do. Looking for suggestions from anyone who has experience in these areas. Have only one day to take in the sights and don't want to waste any time. We are in good shape and have no problem hiking if needed. What is the best way to get to the baths from Tortola?

Hello Linda,

Yes I am familiar with the Baths. They are on Virgin Gorda. If you are staying on Tortola then you can take a ferry to Virgin Gorda. I would say the Baths is the big attraction on Virgin Gorda. On Tortola you can hike at Mount Sage National Park or Mt. Healthy Windmill National Park has a short trail with plants and wildlife to look at. Mt. Sage is beautiful.

So you get between islands you need to take a ferry.

I was reading somewhere where there was a very cheap ferry going to Virgin Gorda is that located near the where the cruise ships are? Is it possible to do the baths and the hike at Mount Sage. If so how do you get to Mount Sage?
Thanks for your help.

Linda,

I am a bit confused now.... are you visitin g the British Virgin Islands (if so you are docking at Tortola????) on your cruise OR are you visiting the United States Virgin Islands (docking at St. Thomas??? tendering into St. John???) on your cruise. I noticed you said in your first post one day... but didn't think one day = cruise... Where is it that your cruise is going to?

Unfortunately I can't help with the location of the cruise ship versus the ferry dock for Tortola.... I am not well knowledged on the British Virgin Islands. I know just a little about them, and the location of those two things isn't something I am famliar with. I could tell you about the USVI, which is this board and web site's subject.

I would think perhaps you are docking in Road Town Tortola and there are ferries that leave from Road Town and West End. Road Town of course if that is where your ship is at would be closer. How close I am not sure.

I found this for a Tortola to Virgin Gorda ferry....
Speedy's ...
