Want to include a trip to the Baths when I'm there in October. Anyone have any favorite charter boats there or is it just as easy to catch the ferry and a taxi to the Baths? Thanks. Janet

I recommend New Horizons II...16 people max, great, personalized service, and you make four stops...check it out here: www.newhorizonscharters.com. (B reakaway is awesome, too, just a little more $$) If that won't work for you, try Captain Nautica...then Limos...the ferry would be my last choice, as you're just too much 'on your own' in an unfamiliar place. www.viphonebook.com

We have used New Horizons and they are a great way to see The Baths but be aware you are only there for 30-45 minutes before moving on. If you don't mind "being alone" and wish to really spend time experiencing The Baths then I suggest the ferry and taxi. Bring a snack and water so you don't spend a lot of time and effort looking for services.

We used Nauti Nymphs to go to the baths. We had a group of 6 so it was cheaper to get are own boat than going with a group. Capt Calvin was great! You can stay as long as you like or if you tire of the Baths you can head off to your new destination.
Just an option.

Now under new ownership, I understand that Captain Nautica doesn't go to the Baths any more unless the whole boat is reserved by one party. Too bad!

Hi MARTY,
We will be staying in St John in December and are looking for a day trip to BVI. My two top choices are Horizon's II and Stormy & Petrel ( http://www.bestofusvi.com/bvi/stormy.html) Which one would you recommend? It seems like Sormy & Petrel sail around Tortola and stop by Cooper and Peter islands but do not go to Jost Van Dyke. Which one would you recommend? Is Jost Van Dyke a better destination than the South of BVI?

Your expert advise is much appreciated 🙂
Julie.

Virgin Gorda authorities have stopped the vessels from actually sailing up to the Baths. I have seen all charters pull into the marina and passengers transfer to taxi. Taxi's then return you to marina and vessel's depart for remainder trip. Change had something to do with the designated swimming area and Taxi Association. As you may know, enforcement of almost everything in the BVI's is nil and we have also seen these vessels sail to the Bath's with passengers and the thought of not getting caught.
