Hello everyone!
I've been lurking here for some time and absorbing all the great information! I just did a search on past topics but came up with nothing, so if this has been asked and answered before please excuse me.
Earlier today I finalized our airline tickets and reservations for a short trip (only three days) to St. John and a stay at the Concordia Eco-tents. We will be ariving on Thanksgiving day. It sounds silly, but for some reason it didn't occur to me to wonder if St. John would be 'open' on a holiday. Of course I expect some places will be closed, but I'm wondering will the ferries be running? We will arrive on St. Thomas at 4:20pm and will head straight for St. John. Hopefully we will be able to get there! Does anyone out there know? Thanks!
Hi, Megan,
Holidays don't mean quite the same here as in America...except where the gov't is concerned! Haha! Everything will be open and running normally, except the gov't and a very few businesses...nothing that will hinder your wonderful stay here in "America's Paradise". Concordia is great (do a "search" on this board for reviews and other info), you're gonna have an awesome trip! Make sure to rent a car for your stay, as Concordia is a rather pricey distance by taxi. If you have a car you will be able to more fully enjoy your stay. Come on down...you're gonna be so thrilled!!
Hello Megan,
Yes the ferries run on holidays.
