I am arriving on July 17th around 2:30 with my 8 family members. We need to take a ferry to St. John.
Is it better to take the Red Hook ferry or should we take the longer ferry ride from Charlotte Amelie? Also can we arrange an advance taxi/van to transport all nine of us to the ferry dock? We are arriving on different airlines but we all should be there around 2 pm on saturday the 17th. My family tends to get car sick so the shortest taxi ride is best for us. Can you recommend a taxi service that we can reserve in advance?

You seemed to have answered your own question. Charlotte Amalie would be better and quicker and cheaper. With a group that size, they will put you all in one van and send you off right away. You will make the 3 o'clock with no problem. I don't think you need to reserve a special taxi for that short ride. Red Hook maybe.

Is Charlotte Amalie much closer to the STT airport than Red Hook? About how far of a drive are they from the airport?
Hello KBH,
Yes Charlotte Amalie is closer to the airport than is Red Hook. Difference in time is:
about 10 minutes vs. about 35 minutes
Hello David - if your family gets car sick, do they also get seasick? Charlotte Amalie's ferry ride is about 20 minutes longer then the Red Hook ride.
