I'm updating the information folder I leave in our condo for guests. I never use taxis myself. I notice the rates published here are from 2005. Are these still current? If so, it's a pleasant surprise. If not, where can I find a current listing? Thanks.
You can find the current taxi rate right on this website. Just go back to "home" and search for taxi's. They will give rates to most of the popular destinations, I believe that Sapphire is mentioned in the requuest for taxi's from the airport.

Yes, the fares are posted. It says "October 2005" though, I'm thinking they must have gone up since then.
I never noticed the date, oops. It still costs me around $20 per person to get to our villa, about the same as the rates that they have posted here. We have a place on the east end down the road from you.

To the best of my knowledge, those taxi fares are current. It takes the local equivalent of an Act of Congress to change the taxi rates - which takes some island time - etc etc. I've no doubt that with the increased cost of gasoline and little sign of it going down, the rates will change some time soon, but there'll be plenty of advance notice and Islander will be on top of it. Cheers!
Thanks all. I just wanted to make sure I was giving my guests current info. I appreciate your help.
Hello,
Ditto STT Resident's comment about the rates still being current. October 2005 is the last time the Taxi Division released a taxi fare schedule and it is the one still being used. 🙂
