How easy and expensive is it to get a taxi to any beach on SJ? Do they just run to North Shore beaches or can you get one to Coral Bay? Maybe a better question is can you get one when your ready to come back? What about beaches like Francis? Or is that to out of the way? Also, how expensive is it to travel around the island by taxi?

They don't go to all of them. The bus goes to Coral Bay (I think). The book above St. John Feet Fins and Four Wheel Drive is a tremendous resource to anyone staying on STJ. She tells all about the beaches, where taxis go pretty much everything.

Hello Deb,

You can find taxi rates on this site for St. John. At the top of this page click on St. John just above the row of books and then click on Taxi Rates in the drop down. Francis Bay is listed in the rate sheet. You will need to arrange a pick up time for beaches that are off the beaten track and the taxi driver will return for you at that time.
