This is the reverse of the usual question, but is it possible to take a rental car from STJ to STT for the day? We're spending a week on STJ, and I doubt we'll see/do everything on our list, but if we wanted to sightsee on STT for the day, is this possible?
As of last year some companies did care if you brought the car over but most did not. THe car barge is the last thing I would ever want to do on vacation. I used to get paid to do it once a week and it was not fun. If perhaps they were on time it was okay but usually it was a lot of waiting and stress. The coolest part of St THomas is Red Hook and the ferry goes there every hour from cruz bay. And if you really want to go to town ( only do this to shop really) then you can take the bus which is a dollar I think and it only goes one direction but it goes in a circle and you can get off at any time and get on another. This is a way way way better option then trying to drive on STT which is really intense. Plus the bus is open air. Sorry no company on St John allows their cars off the island 🙁 St John Car Rental I know has a fine of $1,000 and they make you sign on the contract that you will not - not sure if the fine is the same at other companies or not.
