Hi,
We're taking 3 kids (13, 10, 7) to St. John for a week. None of us really love to camp, but we're staying it Maho Bay nonetheless. Any suggestions for keeping them occupied? They will only be interested in snorkling for so long.
Thanks.
Cathy
Lets see kids.... maybe rent a dingy for the day and beach hop by boat, or charter a boat for a day and let a captain/tour guide/ experienced person show you around our beautiful waters. Take a day trip to St. Thomas and visit Coral World.... try parasailing. Day Trip to the Baths in Virgin Gorda. Spend half a day driving around St. John visit Annaberg. Go hiking one day, Cinnmon has hiking, plantation ruins and beach all in the same area and all walking distance from each other. Go to the Westin Resort and see about renting kayaks, sea dogs or other water crafts from the watersports center - I think Caneel has one also and Cinnamon - but from recollection it seems like Westing had more activities - the kids might like them.
We brought two of our kids last August. A son 15 years old and a daughter 8 years old. We spent every day in the water and a couple of days hiking on St. John. One day was spent on a day sail with New Horizons. The kids never tired of the water. In fact once the sun went down they were in the pool until bed time.
