Some one suggested these restaurants while we are in USVI. Any one have opinions? What is proper attire? What could one expect to pay for dinner for 2 , with out drinks? Thanks. Also heard good things about Blue Havana.

Old Stone Farmhouse: We just spent $150/two including appetizer, entree, dessert and wine. They have great sushi if you are into that. Beautiful surroundings. Talented chef.

Tage: If you sit at a table, will run about the same, but you can sit at the bar and order off a creative bar menu for a bit less. Will makes a mean martini. Save room for the white chocolate tarragon souffle.

In the VI, you can always find someone more dressed up than you are, someone less dressed up, and someone wearing shorts. There isn't a dress code, but both of these places would be great for the casually elegant togs that you buy while you are on vacation! 😉

Hello,

Been to Old Stone Farmhouse and Havana Blue; the bills were about $65-$90 per person for appetizer/entree/drinks/tip. Most people were wearing dressy casual cloths... I did see maybe two or three in jeans or dress shorts. The presentation, atmosphere, service was excellent at both places. The food was also very good, though a bit too eclectic for my tastes. Havana Blue has great drinks. If you are a beer drinker, their beers are outrageously priced in my opinion so you are better off getting the mixed drinks. Two others that I really enjoy are Banana Tree Grill and Craig & Sallys.

recently ate at Tage and thought it was creative but overdone on the spice content --- some dishes were outstanding and others were killed by a very heavy hand --
also, the main dining room is quite hot -- outside might be better -- but since it is a low building it doesn't get as much breeze -- so dress light!

We just got back and we thought Tage was very good about a nine on a scale of 1-10 due to somewhat overpriced and disappointing appetizer, whereas 2 nights later, Ten Tables was about an 11 - excellent.

Been to to Tage, Oceana, OSFH - loved them all, but in that order.

Never heard of Ten Tables - where is that?

Chilly Billys in the Lumberyard becomes Ten tables at night.

Scotty is the chef at Ten Tables and was the chef at Zozo's when it was in the building where Tage is now(three years ago). I know both Ted(Tage) and Scott(Ten Tables) are very passionate about their food.
You can't go wrong either way in my opinion. They do have different styles. Although, I will say that I think Ted's food is a little more refined whereas Scott's food is less innovative but I wouldn't say one is better or less than the other. Try both if you can.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned INDiGO yet! I LOVE the food there! And it's not expensive, either. The most expensive entree on the regular menu is the bacon-wrapped filet mignon for $22.50!
