I have read positive feed back regarding Dependable Car Rental but wondered if anybody could tell me about renting the Suzuki Aerio in St. Thomas from Dependable Car Rental?

Is is a decent car for the money to rent?

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Sue K.

We've rented the Aerio from Dependable on several occasions. It's a perfect sized car for 2 people. The only cautionary note I would mention is that it rides rather low to the ground and if you're planning on driving it onto the ferry to visit St. John, you might find that it scrapes the bottom at you drive up and down the ramp. Much depends on the tides and which ferry you're on - the Mr. B seems to have the steepest ramp and that's the one we had trouble with...

I rented the vehicle in question last year and it worked out well for us. Most of the time there was only 2 of us in the car but we had a car full of adults several times. I agree it is rather low to the ground and with all of the "speed bumps" on the island you have to be careful. I found that if I took some of the larger speed bumps at an angle (right front first etc) I had no problems. Also on the ferries I go up the ramp at the same type of angle and have no issues. I had a Toyota a few years ago and the only way I could get up the ferry ramp without hitting the tailpipe was to have the other 3 people get out of the 'yota. Other than that the Suzuki was a great little car for us.
