Hi- Today's my birthday and my husband just surprised me with a trip to St. Tommy OR somewhere warm. Being that St. Thomas is near and dear to me (we were married there, took a trip back last year with the girls), I would like to go back but am now thinking of the BVI's. Any suggestions for places to stay? Things to do? I know that there are 4 islands that make up BVI and I'm not really sure where to stay or what to do. I've heard of people on this board talking about Jost Van Dyke and it sounds super nice. I'm just starting my search and this board has been such a great source of information when we visited St. Thomas/St. John, I'd like to get some opinions of all of you friendly folks on here that have been to the BVI's. Thanks in advance!

Amber

For the BVIs try taking a look at Cooper Island...just Google it for the website. It is a very casual little resort type place...good choice if you really want to relax. Another option is to check out Guana Island Resort...again another private island...this one is quite nice. Guana itself is beautiful...and they even have pink flamingos there. For something more upscale try Peter Island or Little Dix Resort. Living on STJ I have been to all and they are great!
Hope that helps!

Amber,
Who did you get married thru? Just wondering if I might have done your wedding! 🙂
My choice would be Virgin Gorda outside of STT, tho I can't offer any info. on it! CONGRATS! What a wonderful gift!

Hi ! Thanks for the great suggestions. I will definitely look into the suggested spots. I would like to try somewhere new, although I LOVE St. Thomas. So I'm not sure what to do. Are day trips possible to the BVI's from St. Thomas?? Even if we went to the BVI's, I would still like to go to St. Thomas (not sure it's even possible).

Sherri- We were married at the Marriott. I'm not sure I remember your name but who knows!

Keep the great suggestions coming!

Amber,
You can do all kind of side trips from STT! You can go to just about any of the islands mentioned above! That is the nice thing about staying in this area. Island hopping is easy! Obviously, it works in reverse as well!

I wasn't your coordinator, I work for an independant co., but I am guessing Bill Arnet was your minister! He's a fun kinda guy! Happy you had a wonderful experiance!

The BVI's are great - we had only visited the USVI's and during one trip took an all day sail that took us to the Baths on Virgin Gorda, Marina Cay, Norman Island and Jost Vay Dyke - we were hooked.... we are spending two weeks on VG this summer....To answer your question, however, I would suggest visiting the TTOL website (TravelTalkOnline) - they have a GREAT BVI message board along with all the other islands and the people on the BVI board are extremely knowledgeable and sincerely helpful in wanting people to have a great time... Hope this helps.... <')))<
