Is there anywhere that I can get a surf or wave report. We are going to be there next week(flying in on Saturday the 9th....yeeeaaahhhh) and are taking new horizons II over to the baths and was curios about the size of the waves when crossing.

Thanks

Graham

Hello Graham,

Weather Underground has marine forcast, check it out at:

http://www.wunderground.com/MAR/wcm.html

St. Thomas zip code is 00801, St. John 00831... among others but those will work.

Thanks for the link. LOL I found www.wunderground.com yesterday when looking around. We bought 4 walkie talkies for the family to share and those have weather station settings to listen to while we are there. I was just curious to know before hand cause we have a pregnant couple coming with us and they were debating going out on the new horizons II charter with us.

How big are the waves typically from STT to the Baths?

I was just curious since we will be there in a week and 1/2. What is the usual wind direction in the summer that allows for the north shore beaches on STJ to be calm? The web page showed both northeast and east winds.

Typically the wind and waves are out of the East. While on the NH II, you will be in Drakes Passage, which will have waves in the 2-4 ft range, on average. Since the NH II is a38footer, have her sit in the back (the stern) and it will be as smooth as riding in a safari bus.

Exciting trip ahead! For surf and wave reports, I'd recommend checking out local surf forecasting websites or apps. They usually provide detailed reports on wave height, conditions, and forecasts for specific locations. Have a fantastic time at the Baths and safe travels on New Horizons II!
