Bill: Surfing depends on the winter storms and swells. Hull Bay on St Thomas and Apple Bay area of Tortola are the two surfing spots...

Hello Bill,

Try reading this section

It might help.

thanks islander,
I did see that section and it was good for basic info which is as much as you would want to give on your site and keep the local surfers happy, nobody wants too much info about their spot on the net ( good waves are a limited resource). I'm hoping to hear via email from a surfer who might have more detailed info. When I lived and taught in Costa Rica in 93 I surfed with a couple of classic characters from the VI named Marcus and Dietrick and they told me of some nice reef breaks they liked to surf so I'm hoping to connect with some locals who don't mind to show just 1 guy around for some VI surf if its good while i'm there, or at least rent a real surfboard 6'3" to 6' 8".
Hope all is well with all of the hurricane surf you guys are getting
Bill

Bill,

Glad you picked up on why its basic. A local surfer was interviewed for that information and he laughed quite a long time when asked if there were any other good spots besides the ones listed and then said yes but.... I might suggest calling West Indies Windsurfing; they are on St. Thomas; at (340)7756530 about renting boards, any persons you could go with that might work there or that they could suggest.
There is also a surf shop on St. John however I haven't been able to get a telephone number for them - perhaps one of the St. John folks on the site can share that number with you.
