My family and I will visiting St Thomas in April 2013 staying in a villa. What are the best supermarket (veggies , meats , seafood, fruit, etc) family of 8.
CostULess in Market Square East which is right off Weymouth Rhymer Highway, Rte 38.
I find that in order to get everything one has on the grocery list, you need to shop at all the different stores.
Prices can be better at Price-smart but you have to pay for a card there, you don't at Cost U More.
However, if you need certain items and don't want to buy in bulk, then the trip to the various stores to hunt down what you need.
Good luck and be prepared for sticker shock.
Are the stores far from Sapphire beach? and are they easy to find, we will be renting a car and want to load up the condo with drinks, breakfast and lunch items. thanks for your help. Shelli
Sapphire is on Rte 38 and both Plaza Extra and CostULess are both on that same route. You'll take a right out of Sapphire and just continue on that road which will take you to Tutu Park Mall where Plaza is located; CostULess is further down the same road off to the right at a traffic light in Market Square East.
ziggy, if all you want are breakfast and lunch items and drinks, you might be able to make due with KMart. They sell Oscar Mayer products at decent products as well as coffee, tea, milk, juice, eggs, cereal, bread, etc. No fresh meats or veggies, though. They have a limited selection of popular liquors and some wines. CostULess has a better selection.
Many statesiders are surprised at the prices at our KMart for these basics. The lunchmeats at CostULess are not popular brands for the most part, and to me, have a high water content.
