Does anyone have any information on either of these condos on St. John? We are thinking about staying at one of them soon and were looking for anyone that could provide some personal experience. Are they clean, what are the views like, walkable to town, appliances and a/c modern, etc.
Friends of ours stayed in #6 Cruz Views this past July (we stayed in the Westin Villas but had dinner with them at CV on several evenings). They enjoyed Cruz Views - the condos were clean and well equipped; appliances were relatively new from what I saw (all the units privately owned and are furnished differently though). There is a nice shared pool that they seemed to have to themselves most of the time. The view from their balcony was beautiful - much nicer than ours at the Westin. There had been some discussion about noise from construction of Sirenusa on the opposite hillside, but they weren't bothered by it - it was uglier to look at than it was noisy to listen to, from their experience. It was July so AC was used constantly and worked well. Cruz Bay is close and easily walkable - downhill to town, uphill back; fairly steep but close enough not to be a problem. They said they'd stay there again.
I stayed in Cruz Views #1 in May. There was construction going on but the noise was never a problem. The condo was nice for the money we paid. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We had very few complaints and would definitely stay there again. The view was also very nice. The walk, as ccasebolt said, it pretty easy downhill. Uphill is a different story!! Walking up it once was enough for me.
We'll be there tommorrow nite.!!!!!...at # 10 Cruz Views for 8 fabulous days...will let you know when we get back, but have checked them out before and they look great for us..

we've stayed at cruz views many times over the yrs. have always enjoyed it..the pool is never busy and so nice to have use of in the evening and mornings. each unit is slightly different since they are privately owned, but they're all very nice, full of all you'd need+ cooler and beach chairs. some nights we'll have drinks at the pool deck and watch the sunset...beautiful !! my favorite condo is #10....end unit , larger porch, private. i like that we can walk into town, so if we're really in a "party" mood we don't need to drive after a "few"...i must say i don't walk home up the HILL ! just grab a cab !! imo you can't go wrong wiyh cruz views..comfortable, clean, well maintained and affordable !!
