Hello to All,
Many of you have been to USVI in the Winter/Spring and I was wondering when
the sun sets in the beginning of April?? Daylight Saving time begins April 3rd for us
and we spring ahead 1 hour. I know you are on Daylight Saving time all year.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Grace
Hello Grace,
During the summer months the sun rises around 5:44am and sets around 6:57pm. During the winter months the sun rises around 6:46am and sets around 5:49pm.

That web site gives sun rise/sun set times by day for various locations. For April in the USVI it says 6:31pm to 6:38pm for sunset throughout the month. You can check it out and look at your exact dates.

Grace: The USVI does not observe daylight savings time but remains on Atlantic Standard Time. From the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October, the USVI is one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time. When it is 5 pm here, it is 4 pm there. During daylight savings time, we are the same as the east coast (EDT.)
Hello East Ender,
Daylight savings time starts Sunday April 3rd and ends Sunday October 30th on the east coast. So that means we will be on the same time frame? You confused me. I thought you were ahead one hour from the last Sunday in October till the first Sunday in April this year. Which is it?
Thanks,
Grace
During EDT (April-Oct) we are the same time as east coast. From Oct-Apr we are one hour later- meaning, when it is 5pm here, it is 4pm there. We don't change, but the east coast does, one hour ahead of standard IS daylight savings for the east coast. Now that should be as clear as mud.
APR-OCT EDT=AST 5 pm = 5 pm
OCT-APR EST=AST (EST+ 1) 4 pm = 5 pm
;-( HELP!
Thanks East Ender!
It's clear........
Good, will you explain it to me? 😉
Grace the other posters have given you all the basic info...may I suggest a way to watch it. Get a beach chair that can be submerged in salt water without harm,(not lounge chair) Just before sunset walk in to the water facing sunset. Sit down at a depthto where the water comes up to between your chin and lower lip. Then with your feet in the sand, rock back and forth until you sink to the point where the water is just over your lips. (obviously breath throught your nose) Relax and wait. Don't forget the chair when it's over.
