I'll be staying on St John in the next couple of weeks and wanted to get up to get some sunrise pictures.

Any suggestions?

I'll have access to a car and am willing to go wherever makes sense.

Thanks to let me knwo when you have time.

Cheers,
Patrick

Hello Patrick,

http://www.sunrisesunset.com/custom_srss_calendar.asp

Take a look at that web site and put in your dates, you can get an idea of when sunrise takes place in the VI.

What type of scene are you trying to capture? Unobstructed over water, framed by islands, coming over a mountain, etc.?
If you want BVI in shot, you will need to visit the East End around Haulover Bay.
Rams Head or Drunk Bay (Salt Pond area) will give you less BVI in picture.
Bordeaux Mountain will give you a very nice panoramic.
Suggest you scout out the possible shots the day before and then plan your shoot based on what you see.
Didn't spend much time on mine but was happy with Reef Bay view looking over STJ.

Chris,

I was hoping to get more of the BVI included, if possible.

Would I be able to get BVI included in a sshot from Bordeaux?

That will be the panoramic view including lovwer BVI (Norman and Peter Islands). You should still scout out the best shot before to make sure of your view. Suggest 7-8 AM to get feel of location.
Don't pass up Haulover Bay if you want BVI as well. You may not use it but the view is worth the visit just the same.

Happy hunting.
