My boyfriend and I are heading down to STT from June 22-28. This is my first time to any island. We are in our early 20s and want to see whatever we can. What would you guys recommend for us to do?? Any suggestions would be great. I was looking at the STT Skyride, any opinions on that?

Thanks!!!

Skyride in my opinion is WAY WAY overrated. I think its like $16 each to go up and to have the honor to pay for overpriced drinks. The view is nice but you can get the same view from the lookout place on Skyline drive.

Since you are in your early 20s I would highly recommend heading over to Jost Van Dyke for the day, you'll love sitting in a hammock on a gorgeous beach. EVERYONE I take over there absolutely loves it. I would rent a car and go exploring, there are some great off the beaten path stops, a trip up what I call rainforest road up Crown Mountain.

Then just hanging at the beach. I'm just an explorer and do things that look fun as I see them. Jost you can takre the ferry for $40 each.

I'd also recommend a daysail too $100 each roughly depending on which company for the day open bar and lunch and you get to see the islands from the water and you get to much much better snorkeling than what you can get to from the beaches.

Paradise Point can be "un-overrated" (sorry SS) If 1) You've rented a car you can drive up during the day saving the $16, at least we were still able to do that last year. 2) For the Wed. sunset party, if you show your room key when purchasing a tram ticket (can't drive up on Wed.) you'll get the "local" rate I think it's $5 and Coors Lite is 2/1. I feel it's a must do on STT (at least once)

Other things to see/do:
Mountain Top
Drakes Seat
Megans Bay
Duffys Love Shack
Greenhouse Happy Hour
Carribean Saloon
Sopchoppys (sp?)
CA for shopping
Beaching
Day Sail
Exploring

HAVE FUN !!!!!!!

As a seasoned vacationer to STJ and under the influence of some wine, I'd like to be so bold as to offer the "be on island time" philosophy which I like to do when I see someone write "we want to see whatever we can"- these are islands to be laid back on. They aren't Disney World. They are beautiful beaches, slow moving everything, flip flop walking, and taking deep breathes at the bars or just sitting on the beaches watching the sun set. If you want fast pace, non stop action, go to St Martin or some other place that specializes is active activities. If you come to the VIs, plan to be relaxed and plan to scrap most of your plans because no one else will be in a hurry except you. The night life on STJ anyway is fun but very low key. I don't think there's any gambling, shopping is minimal except on STT, etc. Again, it isn't Disney or Universal Studios or any place with non-stop stuff to do. You will leave feeling like you have warm butter in your veins, and later on, the smell of sunscreen will bring back a vacation of beautiful, low key memories. But you have to want this or I bet you'll be disappointed. We never are and have been coming down since our 20s. Its all in what you need to have a memorable vacation and the best memories on the VIs are made doing the island time thing, not trying to find Disney World.
