This Board is the Greatest! My question is that we are leaving STT on a Tuesday but not until 5:00 p.m. I have asked for a late check out at Sapphire Beach Resort (that's where we're staying) but that will only take us to Noon. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do for a few hours in the afternoon? We'll have our luggage with us (UGH!). Or do you know if the airport has lockers or something that we could stow our luggage? Any comments or help will be appreciated.
ONLY 32 MORE DAYS TILL WE'RE IN PARADISE!

We were there in early Dec, we always fly on Wed's and I never want to leave so I always book a late flight, around 5 also. This year we did some shopping in CA. on Sunday since parking is easier and shops close at 1pm.kind of curbs your spending. The day we left we stayed at Secret Harbor until about 11am and drove to Havensite to finish up some last minute shopping, then drove to Emerald Beach for a leisurely lunch at the beach, returned the car about 3pm and we had plenty of time to make our fight out. Hope this helps!

I've been taking notes for our upcoming trip and I found someone who wrote a trip report that said they dropped off their luggage in Charlotte Amalie- at the Native Arts & Crafts Cooperative across from the Vendors area and Emancipation Park for $3. I don't know if this was $3 per bag or for all of their luggage. Maybe someone else knows about this from experience.

We plan on going up to Paradise Point on the tramway to look around to all the places we have been and say goodbye to the islands. You would pass by it on the way from the East End to the airport.

We will probably eat something up there too because they don't feed you on planes anymore and airport food IMO stinks.

Thanks, Ellen, for the reply. Unfortunately, our dilema is that we will not have a car. That only leaves taxis as transportation. Any other ideas?

STT airport terminal serves local food and has a bar serving island drinks, amongst other things. I actually enjoy the food there.

Can you leave the luggage at the CA ferry terminal? Sorry of this has already been explored.

I have heard of people hiring a taxi for a set period of time, this may be something you may want to look in to, and then follow a schedule similar to ours. When we had lunch at Emerald Beach they were very nice about letting us change into our traveling clothes, the may hold your bags for you while you are using their resturant. If it were me at Emerald Beach I'd dismiss my taxi, eat, take in the last time at the beach, change and get anothe taxi from there to the airport, only a five minute ride. Hope some of this is useful for you.

Freespirit:

There are six of you and you're not renting a car? Taxis charge by the person. It can get very expensive.

Hi FI..
Yes, there will be 6 of us staying at Sapphire but everyone else is flying out earlier on our last day. Hubby and I will be the only 2 leaving late in the day. As far as renting a car, we're all undecided as yet. I don't think I'd mind the driving on the left side of the road but I don't like heights so driving UP those roads scare me! No one else has "stepped up" to say they'd drive, sooooooooo, I guess we'll just wait and see. Kind of a bummer but when we were there in 04, we did a lot of sightseeing and running around. This time I just want to rest and relax...

Ellen: Thanks for the suggestions. Emerald Beach sounds good. I'll let you know how it turns out. Only 29 more days to paradise!
