We are considering a trip to STX in Feb. 2010 and would like to stay in the Cane Bay area on the water. Are the Feb. winds to strong for snorkeling and shore diving in that area?

Thanks for the replies,
Glen

Hello Glen,

We get 'Christmas Winds' from around December to February but its not gusty everyday, it varies. If there are weather systems causing increased wave action at beaches then the near-shore waters at those beaches gets murky which is not favorable for snorkeling. As for a general picture of snorkeling/diving conditions specifically at Cane Bay in February, not sure. You could try contacting some dive operators on St. Croix. They could give you the scoop on diving conditions in February, try the St. Croix Activities: Diving page on the site.
