Greetings All!
Hubby is turning 50 this coming year and wants to return to STX (where it all began for us...) - we haven't been there since 2001 - we always stayed at Sugar Beach and were quite happy there (until we discovered the rest of the Virgins - I digress...) anyhoo - I'm looking for details on Waves at Cane Bay from anyone who has stayed there AND/OR information any beachfront accomodation with full kitchen and a patio/deck overlooking the ocean - not looking for spas/$$$restaurants, just a beautiful quiet beach that we can lounge on and preferably snorkel off of and when not on the beach - be able to look at it from our deck.
Thanks a million - can't wait to get your advice!

You may be interested in Cottages by the Sea--go to www.caribbeancottages.com to check it out. They are a small low-key hotel, right on one of the most beautiful beaches in STX. Each unit has its own kitchen and many have balconies or porches overlooking the ocean (I think that the cottage "crow's nest" has the best view). They are not fancy, but clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced.

Good luck planning your vacation and your trip wherever you end up staying!

Waves has changed ownership and major renovations have just been completed. I have not been inside the rooms, but from the outside it looks great. Waves has a natural pool and nice sunning area but no beach. Cane Bay beach is just a short walk down the road. There are also at least 4 restaurants within walking distance.

I like the north shore and think you would have a good time at Waves. If the price is right, I'd go for it. I would suggest a rental car. Try Judi of Croix.

We stayed at Cruzan Princess last year and have already booked for next May. Nice 2 bedroom condos (4 units per bldg). Full kitchen and we are in a unit that is right on the water. You can't swim right off the complex but you can walk down the beach to the area in front of H2O and swim and snorkel there. We like it there because it is quiet and sorta in the middle between Cane Bay and going the other way, the rest of the east side. We also used Judy of St. Croix and again have booked a car with them. The complex also has a pool if you would want that. We never went in it tho since we prefer the "real" thing. No air conditioning but we did not miss it at all. We live in Fl. and try not to use ac here either.
If you would like more info, please feel free to pm me.

Hi,
I have a lovely one bedroom condo (perfect "honeymoon" or anniversary spot) in Frederiksted right on a gorgeous beach with wonderful snorkeling in front. See my website, with rates, etc., at www.sunsetsuitevi.com. I'd love to have you!

Have they reopened the restaurant?

When we were there a couple of months ago they were in the middle of renovations. That restaurant/bar will be wonderful once it's cleaned up - such a great view!
