Hello all, we've stayed on STT on several occasions but are thinking of expanding our enjoyment by going over to STX. Thinking of staying at the Divi property on the east end (must like the east end of the islands, usually stay at SH on STT).
So any comments on the property and/or suggestions where to go and any car rentals companies?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Alan

Hi Alan,

Check out www.paradiseonthereef.com

This a beautiful 2 bedroom 2.5 bath condo on the East End of St Croix that includes a free car rental.

Or if you decide to back to St Thomas, check out www.paradiseatthebeach.com

I personally would stay anywhere but there...............Carambola would be my first pick on STX as a hotel.....for the beach ..sunset and price......a week in a villa would be much nicer .......Olympic has always done me right for rental cars/jeeps........a week at a condo on the east end would be nice also and maybe cheaper than the Divi.............just my opinion of course..

Divi would not be my first choice, too far from most things. Carambola is beautiful but also far out.

Hello Alan!

We've stayed at Divi (Sept 06) and really enjoyed it! It is somewhat isolated, due to the general nature of STX, which we find very appealing...with a rental car you can explore the entire island very easily!

We stayed at Divi while looking for property on the East End, and actually purchased a villa in January of this year! Called EastWinds, it's just on the other side of the hill from Divi - here's a link to our site if you'd like to check it
out! http://www.vrbo.com/116703 Of course, we like it even better than Divi, but it all depends what you're looking for! 🙂

Please feel free to contact me direct through a PM or at [email protected] I'd be happy to share more info about Divi, our villa, or STX in general!

Denise

Why not stay at BOTH Divi and Carambola? They represent two different kinds of STX.
The drives along the north shore and south shores are different and interesting.

Our brief stay at Carambola was terrific. More tropical. The 'remoteness' of it is part of the charm. Good food on premises. Better beach than Divi. Nice rustic on-beach bar/restaurants along the northshore too. The Pizza at "The Wall" is good (about 10 minutes from Carambola along the shore). Great place to watch the sunset.

I think the pizza joint Neil was talking about is actually called "Off the Wall."

It is tasty!

I don't know if it's good form to list another site or not, BUT...... Try trip advisor.com and work your way to the St Croix section. It has much more info about STX than you can find here. This forum gets posters more interested in STT or STJ. Whatever it's worth to you, STX is my favorite of the USVI. I've stayed on all 3 but STX appeals to me more than the others. We always stay at The Buccaneer and really enjoy it. Although both the Divi and The Carambola are "remote", if you get a cheap rental car you'll be able to get yourself around STX pretty easily. I just enjoy the ride from one place to the next. Lots of fun to just enjoy the scenery and daily life unfolding in front of you. Good Luck.
