When is the next St. Croix Jump-up? Is there one in early December? We went to the Valentines Jump-up this past February and it was great! We will be back the first 2 weeks this coming December and were hoping for another one.

You just missed one a couple weekends ago. It was on a Saturday in July, which is very unusual. The locals weren't expecting it, as Jump Up is typically on a Friday night; so there was a very small crowd. The next one will be Thanksgiving weekend. Come on down!

STX Realtor, you posted that the jump-up was on a Sat. which is very unusual, and the locals weren't expecting it. What or Who determines when there will be a jump-up? Just wondering.

I copied this off the VINow calendar for the November Jump-Up.

"Come join the fun of a street party St. Croix style in Christiansted. Stores stay open late and offer special sales. Food and drink booths are set up on sidewalks and live music on street corners."

That's what it is. A big street party with all of the above. Lot's of different kinds of bands playing all kinds of music and plenty to eat and drink. Lot's of wheeling and dealing at the shops. We were entertained by Mocko-Jumbies and street dancers too. We especially liked the Ebenezer steel orchestra. A bunch of kids (at least 30) from a local church I believe. Remarkable full sound. Don't miss one of these if you get a chance.

Hello Barefoot Bubba,

The folks that organize it are the ones that arrange the dates, activities. They are scheduled months ahead. The July 16th one was unusual in the sense that it was a Saturday not a Friday but it was planned.

Usually there are four a year.

The 2004 Schedule was:
Valentine Feb 6
Triathlon Apr 30
Summertime Jul 16
Holiday Nov 26

And 2005:
Valentine February 11
Triathlon April 29
Summertime Jul 16
Holiday Nov 25

I will post the 2006 schedule when I get it. The previous schedules will give you an idea of when they usually take place though.
