I love this site and visit it often even when I am not planning a trip because it just makes me happy and keeps me motivated to keep working to get back there some day. It used to be after I read a post the message flag would disappear showing I read it and would then reappear if a reply was added. Now they stay indefinitely (Yes, I am logged on). If I mark all read they all disappear, is it me or did they change things?

The flags should disappear. If the message list is more than one page long, however, you need to advance forward to the next page(s) before the the flag disappears.

The new message flags do disappear after messages within that thread have been read. And another flag appears if the thread gets a new post that you have not yet read. However, we made some temporary changes to settings on the site and there may be a delay in the flags disappearing after you read a thread -- might require hitting refresh.

Wolf,

"I love this site and visit it often even when I am not planning a trip because it just makes me happy and keeps me motivated to keep working to get back there some day."

--exactly my sentiment as well!

Yes, something changed with the flags. It is annoying for obsessive people like me. I want to see that flag change immediately. I found that instead of using the browser back button, clicking on "Message Boards" under "Quick Links" at the top right of the page will do the trick.

I knew it wasn't just me! I suppose I am also a little obsessive and like to see the flag immediately disappear, it just makes it easier to track what you read and what you didn't, although it is not a big enough deal to make me stop visiting the site. I just like it better the way it was before. Can't wait to get back to the Islands!!

The message flags should be back to normal now.
