I know people have said over and over to not worry about the weather, but seriously, if it says 60% chance of showers, doesn't that mean it will be overcast and rainy most of the day? I wouldn't worry about 30%, but 60% chance has me kind of down. 🙁 Do you still think it will be mostly sunny and just a "quick" shower with that big of a chance of precipitation??

Mountaineer girl,
Where did you see 60% chance of showers? It is so bone dry here, it isn't even funny! We actually had a dark cloud today and a few dinky spinkles, but that was it?!!!! Please do a rain dance!! 🙂 I got the paint brush out today and thought for sure that would bring rain, but it didn't work! Maybe it'll come tonight!

sherri,
it was on weather.com - the 10-day forcast for St Thomas USVI. There was a 30% today, and that continues until next weekend when it goes up to 60%!! Please tell me that even with that much of a chance, that it will still me mostly sunny. I'm sorry, I know you guys need water bad, but can't it wait one more week? 🙂

Hi there,
Oh, I am guessing that is from the front that is just coming off the East Coast. We very rarely have full days of rain and if we do, it will blow away. I promise you will stilll have some good weather while you are here! 🙂

Mountaineer....I just went on weather.com and looked up weather for the month. Even though it says 60% of rain on some days, you still have a UV index of 10!! Don't worry about it now, there's nothing you can do about it and plus, you know you'll have a great time wherever or whatever you do. Don't forget the sunblock!

We want a detailed, full trip report when you get back.

Well let's face it - it's a good thing that we can't control the weather because no one would ever agree!! and, like someone else said, A bad day on the beach is better than a good day at home!

connie - the smiley face is made by typing a : and then a )
the other parenthesis will make a frown and that's all I know how to do!

Yes - I will have a detailed trip report when I get back because I have absolutely LOVED reading everyone else's and I want to return the favor.

72 hours from now we'll be at my sister-in-laws in Columbus OH where we're staying the night prior to the flight. There is no way I'll be able to sleep!

Braggart! 😉

I know! The night before we left, I think I slept a total of 2 hours! heehee! I was up late painting my toenails and just pacing. My father in law was down to dogsit for us. So he and my husband were both sound asleep. I don't know how my husband was able to sleep. He just doesn't get as excited about this as much as I do I guess. 😉

Sorry to all you visitors, but we really are doing rain dances down here. Even so, if it rains, it will rain for a short time and then be bright.

I was away for 2 months and got home the first of March. In the 6 weeks I've been home we have had ONE day on STX that was cloudy/rainy all day.

Mountaineer Girl,
Its getting real clost now. As stated above don't worry about the weather. To quote Buffett "were the sun shines through the pouring rain". If it rains it will be brief and passing. The weather channell always says a chance of rain. Take the sunscreen and enjoy your trip. How bad is the Ohio River at your place. The Kanawha is up about ten feet here.

This weather here in PA is horrible. We lost power last night. The winds were 40-50 miles an hour and when I finally got out of bed at 6:30 A.M. and looked out the window...we had snow!!!

Boy, would I love to be in St. Thomas right now.

Connie -snow! that's wild, I don't know how cold it is out, but the sun is shining great right now.

Jay - I thought it was up the other day and went back down some, but I don't know. When I look out my window, the barges are riding pretty high, so its up some. I think its on its way down tho, I hope.

OK so definitely not worrying about the weather! can't control it anyhow. Got to get to work now and I know I won't be able to sit still this week!

Hey, Connie. Where are you in PA? We're flying out of PIT to STT, then to STJ on 5/12. Maybe we'll see you there!
