Looking to travel to STT with my wife at the end of May. We are trying to find a reasonable place to stay. We are looking to have easy access to a beach with good snorkeling and also easy access to a few food options. We were not planning on renting a car. Anyone aware of a villa or condo that might fit the bill?

I don't know why you don't want to rent a car, but... my first idea was someplace on Cowpet- the Elysian, Cowpet or the Anchorage. They are on a beach and there are three different restaurant/bars in walking distance.

Thanks for the input. Would you say it is necessary, or at least best, to rent a car? I just had thought it would be easier to not. If we had a car, would your suggestions change?

Thanks

We have a private studio to rent with a queen size bed, full bath, small kitchenette, and private patio. It is 150 steps from the beach and 100 from the pool. The villa community if Pineapple Village and is locate 3 miles from Red Hook, there are two restaurants in walking distance. Coki beach is also a 3-5 minute walk and is considered one of the best snorkle beaches on St. Thomas. If you do not want to rent a car, there are safari's($1-2) that make a loop around the island and pass by the complex about every 10 minutes. You can catch a safari to Red Hook easily and in Red Hook there are 11 restuarants, bar, small shops, and the ferry to St. John and the BVI's. If you are interested feel free to email me and I could sen you some pictures of the studio. Good luck with you vacation planning.

Well, if you stay on your property, you are really limiting yourself. Taxis are expensive and public transportation is non-existant at night. From your description of what you want to do, Cowpet is a pretty good bet. But then, you'll want to see what the snorkeling is like over there...and there... 🙂
