Exactly how much of a bargain are the designer items on STT like watches, handags, perfume, etc?? Are the prices really that good to get me away from St John for a day?? Thanks.

agreed... was hesitant to push into Ch. Am. 'just to go shopping' but we ended up staying longer than we planned. Took back a beautiful anniversary ring, plenty of rum, and much much more. 🙂

I bought some perfume while shopping in ST and paid the same price there that I would have in the states. I just didn't have to pay the taxes.

I would say that the tax break alone is worth it.
You never save money by spending it but if its something you've always wanted, this is the place to get it. The prices are usually a good deal without the tax break. I got a great set of Movados for maybe the price of one watch in the states. Electronics, I would hold off on.

I bought a Sony W5 digital camera in STT and when I got back to the States they were the same price and even cheaper online. The best deal in the USVI is liquor. I bought a liter of Johnie Walker Black there for $23, and here it is $50. Cruzan Rum $6.50 for a half gallon at KMart.

depends mostly on your taxes back home ..that's when big ticket things like wqatches become semi or super bargains. I can't stress enuff how important it is that your seller is of top rung level . liquor is a double bargain ..has been since rum was a tool of commerce in days of yore..

AHH i do remember when the real louis vuitton had a shoppe in Charlotte Amalie.. now that was really something ..not the knock offs on each street corner ..sigh...
