Hello all-

I will be visiting STT March 31-April 5, and am wanting to stay on the East End by renting a condo through VRBO. It is looking like Crystal Cove, Sapphire Beach Resort, or Sapphire Village. Any insight/major differences between these three locations?

THANKS!

I have stayed at sapphire the last 4 years now. I have always rented from a private owner, I have found a unit now which I will always rent provided that the owner is still renting and is available. The unit is at Sapphire Beach, personally I would not rent at Sapphire Village. It is not conducive to what I am looking for and this is not a knock on the property, I just prefer to stay on the beach. As far as Crystal Cove is concerned from what I have seen these units vary greatly by owner. Like STT said do you research and find the unit that is right for you, Sapphire remains a great place to stay, you just need to be aware of what it is so you can enjoy.

Here are the4 differences.

1. Sapphire Village units are up on the hill and you will need to walk down to the beach. Chairs are for rent.

2. Sapphire Resort has some very nice units but the property as a whole is in need of repair. It is right on the beach. Charis may or may not come with the unit. They are small (floors 1 and 2) and there are two story units on the thirs and forth floors. The units are more like hotel rooms and with a very snmall kitchen area (VERY SMALL) but one can do with it. Almost all the units are separtly owned and decorated.

3. Crystal Cove sits in front of the better part of the beach but Sapphire Resort does have some of the beach. The units are much bigger and have studio, one and two bedroom units available. The two bedroom units sleep 6 and are about 1300 square feet. They also have grills so that you can cook outside. All come with chairs. All are separtly owned and decorated.

The only food service on the beach is the banna cabanna and a local place down by the end of sapphire resort.

Prices are all over. Most are on VRBO.

You can go to google maps and see the properties.

We stayed at East End Eden on Cowpet Bay and it was beautiful. We rented through Sue and Bruce on VRBO and can't say anything but good about them! They have a 1 bedroom unit and also a 2 bedroom. We stayed in the 2 bedroom. Beautiful condo, view, beach, you name it. I would go back in a heartbeat ..... East End Eden
