Wish I'd done some research on this site much earlier. I've been reading back into early June and finding a LOT more information about STJ, than STT. Was wondering if someone could offer suggestions for casual dining in STT? We'll be staying at the Mariott at Frenchmans Reef. I understand they have some fine restaurants on-site . . .

Where does one go for a casual breakfast, sandwiches or a picnic lunch?

We're excited about visiting. Drove to St. Louis this afternoon and looking forward to being in STT tomorrow!

Thanks for any ideas.

John

We are leaving tomorrow (July 4) and staying at Frenchman's also!

There is a pseudo-deli/market @ the hotel that is open 24 hrs. The food at the restaurants at the Marriott is nothing to write home about. Not horrible, but nothing spectacular. Havana Blue is the exception. Unfortunately, those are your choices, unless you schlep down to CA. There, you will find lots of little places.

Don't know if the Marriott people told you, but they have a boat going to St. John tomorrow evening to watch fireworks.

Thanks for the reply MJ. We're renting a van, so travel into CA is no problem. Would certainly be interested in recommendations for CA.

Funny you mention the boat for fireworks. I called the front desk at Mariott earlier today and asked about that . . . "I don't know anything about that!" I guess we'll have to get there and ask in person.

Hmm, deja vu!

JohnT:
Coco Joe's right there at Morningstar.
In Havensight: Shipwreck and Pizza Amore.
In town: Cuzzin's, the Greenhouse. Bumpa's
Casual breakfast: Delly Deck, Roy L Schneider Hospital.
P.S. You can take The Reefer, a small ferry, from the Reef to downtown. Then you won't have to search for parking!

On Island Time:
Burrito Bay is at American Yacht Harbor
Bottom's Up is at Independent Boat Yard
(I was trying to keep them closer to the Reef! 😉 )

Delly Deck has the BEST breakfast and their "Reuben" at lunchtime is fantastic. Through original and several new owners over the past couple of decades plus, those who've come in haven't changed the place too much nor the food and thank goodness for that. Smart folks.

You have a car so you can really explore and savour! Cheers.

OPPS, sorry about the mix up....it's been about year since our last visit....my memory is getting a bit fuzzy, about 3-1/2 months and it should clear up 🙂
