I will be in St Thomas in a few weeks. I currently have reservations with Dollar, Budget and Avis for a minivan (6 in our family). Is one company more reliable than another, have better/newer cars? I made multiple reservations because I have heard of people having reservations but when they get to rental agency there is no vehicle for them. I've been to St Thomas before but only while cruising. This will be our first time spending a week on the Island.
Thanks

You can check with Dependable Car Rental.
My guest have always had positive experiences with them.
While I understand why you did it, with all due respect, holding multiple reservations means those cars are locked from others, hence creating the issue to begin with.
I have had the experience of booking a reservation each with Budget (terminal) and Dollar/Thrifty (offsite). When I arrived at the Thrifty site they only had 2 cars available and both had extremely worn tires and did not look road worthy. I promptly returned to the terminal and rented from Budget. I agree, tying up more than one car is not the best practice, but I am certainly glad I had that extra reservation. In locations (or countries) where the inventory might be limited, it might be worth it to double book - not ideal, but wise.
My husband and I just got back, we used Dependable, and have for the last 3 years, we have not had any problems with them. They just got new cars in this year.
