I know it has been a couple of months since I left the beautiful islands, but I recently went to a Mexican restaurant in the mainland and it brought back memories, as well as a GREAT craving. I am not saying these things were a "Mexican" type of food, but it just brought back memories. Does anyone know what in the heck those things are they sell in the small food/drink shop at STX airport that are either stuffed with beef, chicken or seafood???? They are kind of empenada like or maybe chalupa like........... I don't know, but I just had a flashback and those things were great! If anyone even knows what I am talking about, is there any restaurant on STX or STT that sells those???? THANKS! CRAVING THEM GREATLY!
Ahhhh, thank you very much!
Sometimes stateside grocery stores stock the frozen versions. Not exactly the same, but still good!
You can also find them in many specialty grocery stores stateside. You're probably more likely to find the Jamaican version, but those are delicious too! 🙂
The next time you're in F'sted and crave a pate, there is a lady with a cart across the street from the fort that makes and sells beef, chicken and salt fish pates. She also has homemade island drinks. I make it a point to have one of her pates and juice at least once every trip.
