Hi All,

I am looking for good/bad feedback on dining at the Stone Gate Farmhouse. Has anyone dined there lately, I've heard it's pricey. So I"m guessing entrees in the low to mid $30 dollar range. We leave this Sat so any info would be a great help.

Do you mean Old Stone Farmhouse on STT? If so, it is well-regarded. You can find hours and contact information here: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/stthomasusvi/D47895.html

It's been a couple of years since we ate there but I have to say it was an excellent meal. Now that's coming from someone who brings their own meat (gasp) to STT!! We don't eat out very much because I don't make very healthy choices when I eat out, and I really hate to overpay for a meal! We felt that our meal was worth every penny we spent, and if I recall, it wasn't even that outrageous. Hope this helps.

We loved it a couple years ago. Beautiful for a special night out and the food was excellent. No ocean view of course but the grounds and the building itself are lovely.

remi: The guy who WAS the chef moved to Yacht Haven Grande, and the guy who was the chef at Bolongo Bay Beach House is now the chef at Old Stone....Both are visionaries IMHO. We ate at Old Stone when Ric Ade first took over and had a wonderful meal. They now are advertising a two course Sunday brunch and a patio menu at night. It is a beautiful, historic setting, and if you enjoy food, you will probably enjoy the experience. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for....

Just had dinner ther on 3/2. They have a fixed 4 course menu (you have choices for each course) for $62pp. You can also just order from the individual courses. The most expensive (entre) was $34.

They were 5 of us and pretty much all had a different selection and everyone raved.,

Hope this helps.

OK, so where is this restaurant? Sunday brunch there sounds like a great idea. No cruise ships the Sunday that we're there, so that may be a STJ day for us, but who knows? nothing written in "Stone" !! haha, I crack myself up.

It is located on # 42 and is on the grounds of the Mahogany Golf Club.

If you are going toward Megan's Bay from CA on #35 you would make a right turn on #42 and the entrance is on your left maybe 50 ft.

So, from Secret Harbour, I would take Rt. 32, turn right on Rt. 38, then left on Rt. 42?? Or, go thru Red Hook and take that road (can't tell if that's a continuation of 38 or 42) and then take a Right on Rt. 42?? looking at a map I printed off from mapquest.
