I need your advice again! I need a resort for one night's stay upon arrival on the island since we will be getting in late. I've also decided to extend my trip by a day and stay the last night in STT as well. We are traveling with kids ages 18 and 8. I would like to be on a beautiful beach with nice snorkeling and decent accomodations (especially for the last day). Car Rental on property would be a plus as we could get in some last minute shopping/snorkeling/sight seeing. I'm thinking of Emerald Beach or Saphire Beach Resort. What would you recommend for us? I know this question is asked endlessly but I would ask you to indulge me and give me your opinion based on our family and requests. Thanks tons!

Just my suggestion...

You will pay some big bucks for what you're asking for fairly little gain. You're arriving late and checking out fairly early to ferry over to STJ. Your return should also be limited since you will probably want to maximize your time on STJ.

Rent at BW for arrival and departure. Rent the car at the airport. Arrive late, get the car and head over to BW. Stay the night and take in the hotel beach the next morning or head over to Coki before getting on the ferry to STJ in Red Hook. If you want, you can shop for some provisions while on STT (not necessary).

At the end of your vacation chaeck out of your villa, spend the day on STJ beaches, leaving enough time for the NEXT TO LAST ferry to STT. Check into BW again, enjoy the hotel beach/pool with some drinks and plan out your next visit.

Thanks Chris, I think I'll take your advice. Another factor is that I know some places have a 2 night minimum and I don't think BW does.

I think Bunker Hill Hotel will take over night rentals, it's located in town with harbor views and walking distance to the ferry. You can also get good food convienent to the hotel. They have a website bunkerhillusvi.com where you can get info.
Good luck, Carla
